Question(s) to this case:

just wanted to know if you have experience with arthroscopic subtalar arthrodesis on patients with subtalar coalition.
if yes, does it hinder compression, and do you need to take it off first and how

Expert:

We have published on these cases: subtalar arthroscopic fusion. Publication together with L.Beimers. Best is indeed to go for fusion. Advantage of the scopic aproach is that you can see the jointspace more clearly: go in with a small size currette, once you removed the first patrt of the cartilage you will see more and can thus slowly progress to the complete posterior facet, I try to enter the joint space with an osteotome(4-7 mm) and try to break the coalition in order to open up the joint a little more.
fixation with 1 or 2 screws
Good luck!
